It is their best movie, hands down. Ratatouille is wonderful, but the overacting and annoying Linguini character ruins it.

Sage is a woke agenda plot device.. a super intelligent black woman who keeps specificly saying "smart person" instead of smart woman. She mentions racism EVERY EPISODE and is pretty much in charge of homelander now(the guy thats supposed to be trump). She is aweful in every way imagineable. Worst of all, she's not even smart.. she keeps showing up to the chaos she causes so everyone and their mother spots her and finds out what's going on. The frenchie gay story was just more "gay BS" added for the sake of agenda pushing... ALOT of people that liked season 1-3 really dislike 4.. they (like everyone said they would after gen v) went way to far with this one sided rainbow maffia bullshit. It used to be pretty balanced criticism/parody of both sides, now it's just woke show number 1005. Extremely dissapointing. There is so much more to criticize just on the 4 episodes released so far but im not writing an essay here...

I don't like sister sage. She is arrogant with zero charisma. Super intelligent characters like Sheldon or Dr House from House MD are shown arrogant and cold from the outside but they have a sympathetic and warm personality inside. They wanted to portray a similar character here but the actress playing her simply doesn't have a charm to pull that off.

But I wonder is the writing any weaker because this change happens off screen? What does everyone here think of this?

I just think it was too abrupt. It felt like they were going one way since they pushed the Kimiko thing the oast seasons sonit felt like suddenly she's like "I know you like him, go get it", it would have been better if they had planted the Colin seed earlier in the series and shown him having flashbacks and stuff from his guilt instead of this "Surprise, Frenchie is with this guy you've never seen before now and he feels really guilty because he murdered his family", the set up is not correct. Sage I wouldn't really compare since she's not a side character, she's arguably sharing the main antagonist role with Homelander, but also everything she's doing has already been set up, she perfectly falls in line with everything we've seen of Homelander the entire series. As much as some people are suddenly realizing the show has been clowning them the entire time, which I do not know how they missed it this long, but the stuff with Sage is a very natural progression so she integrates very easily into it vs Colin that suddenly appears and totally flips the perception of Frenchie as kind of a monster, out of nowhere. Making him have sex with him with that crazy baggage is a crazy choice, it makes him as bad as some of the worst members of the 7. Sleeping with your past victim is like anti character growth for him. I get they are trying to make all of the characters face their past actions this season but Frenchie sticks out for how shoehorned it feels, and TBF, Kimiko has a similar issue for me with the other girl, but that one is just uninteresting since it at least falls in line with what was set up for her already.

I couldn't care less if they decided to mirror frenchie and kimiko's trauma; just make it halfway interesting. You could have an old fling from the time he tries to escape return or something, just not this. I do think sage needs work, but she has time to hook us; it feels like the Colin has literally no way to come back from a shit start. Sage isn't exactly compelling, but there's setup and a whole season left to pay it off.

People say The Boys has become too political, I think it's interesting but their point is confusing or not true. No one wanted out of the blue inserted gay shit with Frenchie, destroyed the build up with Kamiko. It seems Hollywood has forgotten all other ideas so just does subversion nowadays like an edgy teenager

Sage is barely a new side character. More comparative to Stormfront or Neuman as far as her place in the show. Colin is way lower on the rankings next top Kiara.

colin is more of a plot device to get frenchie to confront and overcome his past (theme of the show) than a fully fleshed out character

Let’s play. Remove Colin & Sage from season 4. (While that action awkwardly leaves Frenchie doing nothing in scenes…) If Sage is not there; why r Boys @ convention? No one who b killed ‘at’ protest. Sage is directly affecting plot points; she is not a side character, supporting/costarring is a better fit. Collins presence is building character and plot further down the line.

To be honest i don’t even care about Frenchie at this point. His story was over in season 2 with Lamplighter and should have left alone. Same goes for Kimiko, they’re a funny duo but we don’t need to give them an arc.

The problem with Frenchie and Colin is that they stopped writing a great romance with kimiko to have a pretty useless plot line that ended in episode 4. It’s just blatant pandering so they can say they have a gay character. I have no issue with gay characters but if them being gay causes the story ti be less interesting we have a HUGE problem. Great video, man! The Boys is one of if not my favorite shows ever and I think it has amazing writing. The whole Colin plotline seems like it should've happened a season or two ago, and Frenchie should be more invested into the overarching story this season. I love Sister Sage and season 4 as a whole, and I can't wait to see how it plays out!

Im not surprised Frenchie is bi, the dude seems a lil freaky lol but that facet of his character with Colin was needlessly rushed. They really should have showed us that the relationship bw him and Kimiko would not work beyond being friends and slowly built the chemistry with Colin. He def feels like an afterthought.

Do anyone feel like frenchie and kimiko are just... there? Like they were so cool on the 1st season but they dont seem to know what to do with them anymore beside boring storylines, sure they have fun dialogue and chemistry, but their storyline isnt as entertaining. In the 1st season frenchie was a badass and so smart now he is a junkie, he needs so much more

I remember a comment on Reddit that said "Frenchie has been doing side quests since season 2" and I think that exemplifies the problem that Frenchie's character has in general. Their stories feel too disconnected from the main plot, they feel like video game subplots, because for some reason the producers do everything possible so that none of the other characters participate beyond Himiko and it feels very unnatural. I mean, usually the plots of the other characters are usually quite connected with The Seven, some super and other members of the group, but Frenchie's plots are usually just... Frenchie having solo adventures as if it were his SpinOff with Himiko cameos.
